Well, first of all, it's not a hotel. We have located a venue MUCH more suited to our fabulous group than a hotel, in fact it is a resort - a really comfortable, spacious, kid friendly place. The American Airlines Training Conference Center (AATC) is situated on 30 acres of beautiful shade trees.
We will officially be the ONLY group at the AATC, giving us so much room to play, organize and hold sessions. Imagine an entire facility filled with kindred spirit families!
Please note that, while you are not required to stay at the AATC in order to attend Rethinking Everything this year, you will not be able to stay at the AATC UNLESS you are registered for RE.
Just wait 'til you hear all the details of this fabulous place:
- the AATC offers complimetary transportation to and from DFW Airport and to locations in the area such as restaurants, movie theaters and shopping within a few mile radius, including transportation to and from the public TRE Train Station which accesses the downtown areas of both Dallas and Ft. Worth.
- overnight room rates are $98 per night. If your family wants two rooms, the second room is just $25 per night.Rooms are european sized and you can choose one king, one queen or two twin configurations. Twin beds are completely moveable in the room. Good storage space, cable TV, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer in each room.
Up to 5 people - 2 adults and 3 children - can stay in one room. See photo of a sample room on this page when making your plans. The rooms are not the size of a typical hotel room. While it is possible to sleep 5 people in a room, we believe it will only be workable if your children are young and you are already accustomed to either a family bed or cozy sleeping quarters. There are no rollaway beds at the AATC, nor room for one in any of the rooms. Lucky for us, a second room for your family is just $25 per night! Also, there are no adjoining rooms here. The AATC will put your family's rooms either next door to each other, or across the hall from one another.
- FREE WiFi throughout the entire facility: in all overnight rooms, meeting rooms, public spaces
- on each floor of overnight rooms, there is great hangout space, a microwave and vending machines and - super cool - a washer and dryer.
- gorgeous wooded acreage for enjoying the outdoors. A full ROPES course is on site and you will have the option of having your child or teen your young adult participate in the RE ROPES course event. They also have a huge front lawn where we will host frequent games like baseball, flag football, or whatever you or we come up with.
- we will be using a REAL airplane indoors on Saturday and Sunday for kids called "Play Airplane." Is this a once in a lifetime opportunity, or what???
- top notch tennis, basketball, sand volleyball, shuffleboard, swimming pool and hot tub - all open 24 hours per day as long as the noise is quiet all night
- wonderful game room with coin operated pool tables, ping pong, foos ball, pin ball machines and a FREE large screen Wii with games - all open 24 hours per day, provided all users are respectful of self, others and property
- fitness center with exercise classes, showers, fitness equipment, even complimentary personal trainers
- Cyber Cafe open 24 hours per day, with multiple computers with internet access
- exceptional Food Court with a myriad of options. Buy just one item or a whole meal or just a salad bar. All food is family priced and of excellent quality, from hot entrees and veggie sides to Mexican and Asian options, pizza, deli and hamburgers, baked potato bar, salad bar, soup, desserts, and frozen yogurt. Just for us, the AATC is preparing a special station with raw, organic foods and vegan/vegetarian options.
