Slumber Party "workshop!!!" hosted by Augustine & Atheena Frizzell
We'll use a meeting room where you bring your sleeping bags and pillows and have slumber party games and activities! Augustine and Atheena will provide games, nail polish, makeup and music. The games will include dancing, story telling, charades - stuff like that - in addition to werewolf, catch phrase and other group board games. They will supervise all night for those who want to actually sleep. Otherwise, it will last for each as long as one chooses to stay.
This is for girls only, ages 9 - 14. They will love it and it will be a great way for girls to get to know one another and make new friends. Other moms are welcome to hang out with us!
Note: If there is interest in a "boys only" sleepover, we will need a dad or mom to volunteer to host it. Contact Barb to volunteer.

90 Minute Healing Session – Group
Shamanic Journey – Gift of Divine with Janie Villarreal
During this session you may find that the person on the table is not the only one receiving a healing—that is how powerful Janie’s sessions have become. The nature of this healing and the energy of the collective group guide the direction of the session. Sacred space is what we will create for this most sacred healing. Janie has the capability to heal several people at the same time. One thing clients state is that at the start of the session I know nothing about them and at the end of the session I know everything. Many experience oneness, one breath, universal love, a feeling that they are out of their body. A person in the same room may experience the unconditional love that is felt from Janie without ever being touched. The person on the table finds it easy to “let go” and experience what I now call “Life Coaching Bodywork”—it creates increased expansion, flexibility, etc. I am working their mind through their body and giving them more of what they desire. You are certain to leave with a higher vibration that moves you into a higher level of consciousness.
Shamanic Journey – Freedom of the Mind with Janie Villarreal
Shamanic Journey to a place you’ve never been before where deep, deep relaxation is instant, allowing insight into cause and effect for acute or chronic pain, including injury or any situation in your life or healing in any capacity. An energy reading sometimes takes place where you might receive information from Spirit. One cannot predict the outcome of a session since the Gift of Divine is intangible and known only to the person who opens themselves to having the experience.
Janie meets you where you are and becomes one with your soul and spirit when your session begins. Her skill at therapy and the science of therapy combined with her Master intuitive and healing abilities gives you a powerful healing session designed specifically with you in mind. Multi-dimensional healing is taking place and expanding into the lives of those closest to that person after your time with Janie. This can be a spouse, partner, family member of anyone you come in contact with. DNA repair and the activation of the codes of light language of the heart become part of the structure of your body on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. It is incredible to experience. One may or may not recognize the value in the experience until after the experience is over.
Initially Janie begins the session with a brief dialogue to explore where you are in your life at this moment and to highlight any major areas of concern to you or your family.
Individually contracted sessions may be arranged with Janie during the conference and there will be a cost involved.
Ready for Raw Foods? with Elizabeth Wills
Want to eat more raw foods, but don’t know where to start? Some friends tasted some of my recipes and said they would love to start eating raw foods, but didn’t know where to start. Here’s your chance to see! Come to this virtual un-cooking demonstration and get some tips and recipe ideas. We will talk about raw foods and watch some videos of some raw food preparation (since the conference center won’t allow a live demonstration). We will learn some very delicious, all raw, popular with the family, recipes such as dips, snacks, desserts, cheese, and crackers. This session will be a fun way to start discovering raw & living foods.
Total Make-Overs
Bring your make-up, hair cutting scissors and other accoutrement to share and use on self and others for a whole new look. We have so many hip and creative folks in our midst who excel at this awesome skill. Are you ready for a change? Note: if your child or teen attends this session and tells us s/he has your approval to have their hair cut, whether simply or in some dramatic fashion, we will believe them and honor their wishes. We will not require any written permission to cut hair.
Stop Motion Animation with David Lowery
All participants will need to bring their own digital camera (and cable for connecting to a computer). If they have their own laptop computers, that's good too.
A demonstration of the principals of stop motion animation will be provided, along with examples of how it can be done with home equipment.
Then, all of the participants will get to form groups (or work alone) and make their own stop-motion film. They'll bring me the footage and I'll import it and create the finished movie (or if they have computers with editing software, I'd show them how to do it on their own). Everyone will get a copy of their movie e-mailed to them.
for those new to this, here's a description of stop motion animation:
Movies consist of 24 still photos per second, and using that principal, animators have created whole new worlds with their own two hands. The technique of stop-motion animation has been around for the past 100 years, and used to create such famous films as Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The basic idea of the technique is that the animator moves a model in increments, photographing each change and then assembling those images into a film. It used to require fancy equipment to pull this off, but now anyone can do it with a digital camera and a computer. In this workshop, we'll provide an overview of how to create your own stop-motion animated films, and give participants an opportunity to jump right in and start animating. Everyone who wants to participate should bring their own digital camera and a cable to connect it to a computer. If you have a latptop with video editing software, feel free to bring that too!

Cashflow Game
Created by famous rich person Robert Kiyosaki, this board game is a way to increase your financial intelligence while you're having fun. The rich teach their children how to convert earned income into either passive or portfolio income. If you were raised middle-class or poor, chances are that you were not taught this single most important fundamental to becoming rich-financially free for life. This is one thing CASHFLOW the game trains players how to do. By playing the game over and over, you begin to break up the core conditioning most people learn at home and at school-the conditioning of working hard for money. By having a coach, you can take these principles and apply them in your real life. You'll have the feedback and encouragement you need to get started being financially free. This fun boardgame teaches accounting and risk management, strategic thinking, how to create financial freedom and how to break out of old thinking patterns about money.
Art Mural
Join us in making an always beautiful community creation in our Art Mural, with 2 murals available all weekend to mess with your artistic talents.
Fairy Houses with Sarah Parent
“There are many things in this world that I have never seen but it’s not for me to deny their existence.” This is what I tell my children when they ask if fairies are real. And, indeed, fairy dust and notes ‘written’ in sticks have arrived shortly after they have completed fairy houses near our home. Join in the delight of constructing natural, conscious creations for our fairy friends. We will read Fairy Houses by Tracy Kane and, using the eco-conscious guidelines set forth in this joyful tale, build our very own fairy village in the woods surrounding the AATC.
Letterboxing – Letter what?! with Sarah Parent
Letterboxing is a hobby or pastime combining arts/crafting, nature, and treasure hunting. Letterboxes can be found all over the world. You may have walked right by one without ever knowing it was there! To letterbox, one follows a prewritten clue (some are quite simple and others require research) to seek out a small box housing a stamp and logbook. The stamp you carry as your identity is stamped in their logbook along with your ‘trail name’ and hometown. You also mark the book you carry with their stamp - giving a lasting memory/proof of the find. For more information see: www.atlasquest.com. Most letterboxers who ‘plant’ boxes hand carve their stamps and write a clue that provides information about a topic of their interest, historical information about the location of the letterbox, or some type of coded clue to exercise the brain. Hand carving stamps is fun and easier than you think with a little practice. There are many sites that show how like this one:
http://www.atlasquest.com/tutorials/carving/
The AATC is situated on 30 acres of beautifully wooded land on which to hide letterboxes and have a colossal, weekend-long treasure hunt! People from all over the world will come together to hide boxes, seek boxes, and have lasting memories of this fun, artistic, exciting adventure.
To play:
-Plan to hide a box! Which will be a little plastic storage box/bag.
o Place a small logbook (these are usually no bigger than 2”x2”) in the box. This may be handmade or can be one of
those handheld spiral notebooks.
o Place an ink pad in the box so that people can mark your book and theirs!
o Hand carve or choose a stamp that reflects something important to you or your family (your home state’s bird, a
hobby, a sports team, etc.).
o Name your box and start your clue with information about your theme. You will finish your clue at the AATC when
you choose a location to hide the box.
o Post copies of your clue on the Letterboxing Bulletin Board at RE so that others can seek out your box.
-Prepare your trail stamp and logbook
o Either choose or hand carve the stamp that will serve as ‘your mark’ in others’ logbooks. Since the logbooks in the
boxes are small, make sure your stamp is small to fit.
o Pack a small notebook (a composition notebook or similar will work well) to collect the stamps that you find.
o Occasionally, letterboxers will forget to place an ink pad in their box so bringing one with you is a good idea.
-Letterboxing etiquette
o Be sneaky when you’re hiding and seeking boxes. Hide them out of sight from curious passersby who may disturb
the box location. Re-hide them well when you’re finished stamping.
o Be sure to pick up your box at the end of your stay at RE. The box can be donated to RE for future use or taken
home with you and re-planted near you! If you do this, list your clue on www.atlasquest.com so letterboxers will
seek it out.
See you on the trails! FYI- if you see another letterboxer on the trail, you may ask to stamp/sign each other’s logbooks with your trail stamps. There are many more ins/outs and secrecies to letterboxing. Do a little research and we could have traveling stamps that come back to RE 2011 regaling tales of their adventures in the form of beautiful stamps.
The Gentle Way-Judo with Ian Salavon
Judo is many things to different people. It is a fun sport, an art, a discipline, a recreational or social activity, a fitness program, a means of self-defense or combat, and a way of life. It is all of these and more.
Kodokan Judo comes to us from the fighting system of feudal Japan. Founded in 1882 by Dr. Jigoro Kano, Judo is a refinement of the ancient martial art of Jujutsu. Dr. Kano, President of the University of Education, Tokyo, studied these ancient forms and integrated what he considered to be the best of their techniques into what is now the modern sport of Judo.
Judo was introduced into the Olympic Games in 1964 and is practiced by millions of people throughout the world today. People practice Judo to excel in competition, to stay in shape, to develop self-confidence, and for many other reasons, but most of all, people do Judo just for the fun of it.
Learn the maxims of Judo, how to fall, how to throw, ground grappling, get some exercise, and learn a little Japanese, too. Bring something to workout in, and be ready to sweat!
The class is open to all ages from 5 years old and up. Anyone under the age of 9 should be accompanied by an adult/ older sibling/ or otherwise bigger person.
HAJIME!!! (that means ‘begin’)
Sacred Mama Dance with Shela Tarwater
This activity is open to ALL mamas. It will include an hour of meditative dance, silence and release. Capoeira with Michael Carberry
(cap-o-ware-ah) is an Afro-Brazilian martial art and dance. This acrobatic dance-fight was devloped in Brazil by African slaves who disguised their self-defense training with music and song. Playing Capoeira is a great way to develop strength, flexibility, balance and confidence. Capoeira is played with a partner rather than an opponent; the idea is not to hit each other (there is little contact) but to move together in harmony. In this workshop we'll learn some basic movements, kicks and escapes, play traditional instruments and sing songs in Portuguese. Michael Carberry teaches Capoeira at the Springs Enrichment Academy (near Austin, TX). He loves to play and teach because it's a fun, energetic game with rhythm, culture and style.
Songwriting with Michael Carberry
Everyone has a song in them, but not everyone knows how to let it out. That's exactly what we'll be doing in this songwriting workshop. We'll examine the use of rhythm and rhyme, and then use those techniques to make a song out of any topic. Of course, once we've worked together to write our song we'll sing it out loud!
Michael Carberry (aka Mr. Michael) teaches Music at the Austin EcoSchool.
Ectastic Dance with Tammy Thorn
“Ecstasy is an experience of unity and wholeness, an opening of the heart and mind that suddenly brings you into communion with something much larger than your self. It’s a deeply intimate experience creating a palpable sense of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts.” Karenn Bergenn…..Ecstatic dancer
Dancing has the ability to heal our bodies, mind and soul. It opens communication between our physical selves and spirit and allows us to dive deep into our feeling world and be completely in our bodies while also feeling part of everything around us. Ecstatic dance is an active meditation to openly and freely express ourselves however we feel called to do, it is a dance for ourselves.
Come and play and leave all inhibitions at the doorway. We will begin our journey with a guided dance up through our chakras to fully engage and activate each one into its fullest and purest expression with voice, visual, and harmonic sounds. Afterwards we will put on a mixture of funky, fun, and perhaps silly music to dance and play with your authentic self. Do whatever feels good and feel free to express your inner God/ goddess!
See you there!

• Upload your photo, view on screen and discuss what works and doesn't and why.
By the end of the conference, you'll have learned:

The Art & Joy of Altering a Book with Valerie Cline
Adventures in making Librarians Crazy. Imagine grabbing an old hardback book that you're never gonna read (it's just gonna sit there, you know it) and making it a work of art. Imagine then the possibility of taking that art further and converting it into a vivid journal or an artsy scrapbook. Either way, you made it your own!
We'll provide some hardback books, glues and cool materials. You bring your inspiration and creativity. By the end of the session, you'll understand how it works and will have begun the process of transforming the tome — you can recreate the cover and possibly a spread or two inside. You'll take it home and continue the process.
To personalize it further, consider bringing some of these with you:
• pictures to include (be willing to cut them up!)
• something to commemorate the conference or another event
• funky small items, buttons, stickers that just scream YOU or someone else you want to include
• whatever appeals to you for whatever reason.
Friends and family can work on books together. Two at a time would be perfect to brainstorm and take turns adding creative and beautiful touches.
